INTERNET ABUSE PAPER
The Internet has leveraged itself as a mainstream Information and Communication Technology (ICT) tool in the corporate environment. Employees are using the Internet in activities such as business communication, gathering market information and executing business and financial transactions. However, with not enough Internet access management, the Internet has been too easily available at the workplace. This paper identifies employees’ Internet abuse practices and their subsequent costs. The paper then suggests strategies to minimize employer’s risk and outlines recommendations to manage Internet access. The paper concludes with the significance in managing Internet at work for employers and employees.
